Liaison

The Liaison Committee met to handle some housekeeping tasks. The first thing they did was elect Judy Sgro as the chair of the committee. Then, they elected Kelly McCauley as the vice-chair. The committee members then agreed to some routine motions. Marilyn Gladu proposed a motion to create a special group to handle the committee's budget requests. This group will include the chair, the vice-chair, three other government members, and one member from the main opposition party. The committee also agreed to hire analysts from the Library of Parliament to help with their work. Alexandre Gauthier and Hanna Button were welcomed as the analysts. Finally, they agreed to allow the committee clerk to give access to the committee's digital files to party leaders and to arrange meals for the committee meetings. The meeting then moved to a private session to discuss other business.
