QuestionNo. 100

Mr. Speaker, my colleague brought up the Liberal government's overreach and the distrust that Canadians have. We have seen the Liberals' track record of freezing the bank accounts of people they do not agree with, their ideology and the list goes on and on. I would like for him to expand on why Canadians distrust the Liberal government so much.

QuestionThe Economy

Prime Minister Mr. Speaker, after a year of the Liberal, Canadians got more rhetoric, not results. Instead of energy security and thousands of new jobs, the Liberals blocked pipelines. Instead of investments and growth, the Liberals drove out more than half a trillion dollars' worth of it. Liberals liberalled. Canada finished 2025 with a shrinking economy, the second-highest unemployment rate [more]

QuestionEmployment

Mr. Speaker, that guy from Alberta should be ashamed of himself for supporting the same government that keeps blocking pipelines and other energy projects. That is why 100,000 jobs were lost in the last month. Most of those were in the private sector. Prime Minister Other G7 countries' economies are growing. Canada's is shrinking. We are all facing the same global factors. It is shrinking [more]

I mean, we can all sustain a certain amount of money. However, is it responsible?

Mar 23, 2026

Is it fiscally responsible, though?

Mar 23, 2026

Thank you, Ms. Ryan, for clearing that up. Will you commit to never censoring or watering down a report at the request of the government, bureaucracy or the Prime Minister's Office?

Mar 23, 2026

I'll save my other questions for the next round. Thank you.

Mar 23, 2026

Thank you, Chair. I want to start today by thanking Jason Jacques for his service as PBO. He upheld the integrity and independence of the office he held as the PBO. He did a tremendous job holding the government to account and providing vital information to parliamentarians. We are disappointed that he was not nominated as the permanent PBO, as we outlined in the Conservatives' letter to the [more]

Mar 23, 2026

With all due respect, Ms. Ryan, they jump up every single time under this government. The amount of spending.... Currently, the government is adding another $60 billion to that. In other words, it is going to jump up. Again, my question was about the fiscal anchors being abandoned. Is that not a risk, financially, for the country?

Mar 23, 2026

Right now, the deficit from that budget is about $78 billion. As we know, it was double what Justin Trudeau's economic update was, at the time. The government is notorious, as we know, for adding more spending every year, which likely means deficits will be higher than projected. That's just a track record. At the time, the PBO projected deficits around, as I said, $60 billion over the next five [more]

What would you consider to be responsible spending?
