We must now vote on the current motion before the House.
What They Voted On
It is my duty to interrupt the proceedings at this time and put forthwith the question on the motion now before the House. The question is on the motion. If a member participating in person wishes that the motion be carried or carried on division, or if a member of a recognized party participating in person wishes to request a recorded division, I would invite them to rise and indicate it to the Chair.
What This Vote Is Really About
This vote is about moving forward with a decision in the House of Commons. Basically, the Speaker is saying it's time to stop talking and vote on whatever topic was being discussed. If any Member of Parliament wants to make a formal, recorded vote, now is their chance to ask for it. Otherwise, they'll just do a quick voice vote. Citizens should care because this is how laws are made. This vote determines if the House moves on to a new topic or makes a decision on the current one.
This decision was made by "passed without counting" — no individual MP votes were counted.
