QuestionNo. 100

Mr. Speaker, this bill ensures that, going forward, our telecommunications infrastructure and other critical sectors, such as energy and finance, will be required to work together to incorporate national security into their objectives. This bill will help critical infrastructure operators better prepare for, prevent and respond to cyber-incidents. Does my colleague share that view?

Gaspésie—Les Îles‑de‑la‑Madeleine—Listuguj Mr. Speaker, I applaud my colleague fromfor his open-mindedness. C‑12 C‑12 He mentioned at the outset that there are currently 300,000 asylum claims. QuestionStrengthening Canada's Immigration System and Borders Act

The government is concerned about copper theft, as these structures are essential to ensure that people can communicate and that our telecommunications networks are secure. We are taking all necessary measures. We are in communication with the RCMP and the police, and we are conducting [more]

I'd like to know if you maintain clear data to know the number of illegal foreign nationals and the number of illegal or foreign nationals who have offended? Is that the sort of statistic that you maintain?

One of the things you alluded to was that people were being expelled as soon as they finished their term in prison. I'm assuming that you have due process before being expelled, so would that mean that those procedures would take place during the time the person is in jail? That is something interesting that we may be able to learn from you.

Is there a minimum sentencing where the offenders become eligible for being expelled?
